This year’s History Day Camp was well-received. The topic: 1950s through the 1970s - something a bit different from past camps. Thanks to coordinator Pat Damaska, all ran smoothly.

Fifteen campers studied the moon walk and shot off rockets in the backyard, studied the presidents, which included a visit from First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Also, a visit to the Little League Museum, and a visit from Master Gardeners.

A highlight of the week was a study of music, including big bands, Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis, the Beatles, and Disco, through the brilliance of Mr. & Mrs. Sandy Higgins. That was then followed by lessons in dance - they performed a Conga Line, the Twist, the Pony, the Hitchhiker, and the Hand Jive from 'Grease'. Everyone seemed to enjoy the classic tunes and dances.
