The Annual Membership Meeting of the Lycoming County Historical Society took place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in the Community Room. President of the Board Seth Burch served as the Master of Ceremonies. While the business of the membership meeting was somewhat routine, the room was hopping at the end, to music of the Tumbleweed Trio.
The members heard reports from President Burch and Executive Director Gary Parks. Seth recognized the staff for another year of diligent work for the Taber Museum, and commented on the incredible improvement in the appearance of the Community Room with a fresh coat of paint. Gary discussed the highlights of the year: significant attendance increases at Museum events, including the multiple reenactments of historical figures presented as a part of the America250 celebration. Gary also discussed the Still Life exhibit (still offered in the Community Room) and a number of generous gifts received by the Taber Museum in the past year.

An election of officers for the coming year was held with the following results. Seth Burch- President; Mary Holstein- Vice President; Sue Beidler- Secretary; and Randall DiPalo-Treasurer. In addition, several members were elected to their first term on the Board of Governors: Jim Maule and Lynne Piotrowski; Brad Nason was elected to his second term; Pat Damaska and Connie Phillips were elected to third terms. The Budget for 2026-27 was approved by the membership.
Sara Ousby was recognized for her service on the Board of Governors. She did not stand for reelection in 2026.
Elijah Henderson was named 2026 Richard L. and Miriam L. (Swan) Mix Student Historian. He received his award just before the meeting began.
The volunteer of the year was Bob Schildt, for his work with the train colection.
After the awards, the Tumbleweed Trio entertained the members with selections of Cowboy Songs.
