Meg Geffken as British author and illustrator Beatrix PotterThe Taber Museum hosted Meg Geffken who portrayed British author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, at an evening lecture, Thursday, March 31, 2022,.

Born in July, 1866 to an upper middle class family, Beatrix was educated by governesses and led an isolated life. She turned to nature, befriending small animals as companions. She began drawing the animals and creating imaginative stories in which the animals assumed human-like characteristics. The beloved tales included the memorable characters of Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, Jemima Puddleduck and Jeremy Fisher. The stories have been read by generations of parents to their small children. Ms. Geffken will enhance her talk with illustrations of these beloved characters.

Meg Geffken is also known for her portrayals of notable women including Eleanor Roosevelt, Abigail Geisinger, Amelia Earhart, Clara Barton, and Queen Victoria.
