On Saturday, February 6th, a group of kids and their parents and grandparents joined Sara Kiehl of Lotus Blossom Watercolors and Lettering for a few hours of modern calligraphy/hand lettering.

After a little history on calligraphy and the art of “writing fancy letters”, participants were given tips and a mini-lesson on hand lettering using Crayola Markers and brushmarkers. They then applied what they were shown, and after some practice, created some beautiful Valentines to hand out to loved ones and friends. It was a fun, full day.

Thank you to the Taber Museum for hosting and to all who participated! And also to our sponsor - the workshop was underwritten by a grant from the Free and Accepted Masons, Ivy Lodge 106.
