Member and donor relations is an important part of the the operation of any nonprofit organization. The Taber Museum has struggled for years to meet its regular operating expenses. The Board decided that some professional help with it's fundraising efforts was essential to ensure the continued viability of the Museum.
The current Museum staff is responsible for the care of the collection, planning exhibits and events, and Museum operations. However, conducting regular member and donor contacts with an eye to improving fundraising is not an option with the current limited staff. The new employee with be responsible for regular and extraordinary fundraising efforts, with the goal of placing the Museum on firm financial footing.
