Bottles & Brews V

Bottles & Brews V is now history, but what a great event!

Weeks of hard work by the Historical Society's FUNdraising committee came together on August 11, with a well planned and well executed event. As the crowd poured in at 7 PM, all was ready for a night of tasting, eating and fun. The initial count appears to indicate that a record crowd of over 350 participated in the tasting event.

Many thanks to the vendors who supported this event: Midstate Beverage and brewers Riepstines, Yuengling, Funk, Sobel's, Founders, Old Forge, Miller, Straub's, Neshaminy Creek, Sly Fox, Samuel Adams, Bullfrog Brewery, Boom City Brewing and especially the many home brewers of the Billtown Brewers Guild. And also thanks to our two wine makers, ECM Cellars and Fife and Drum and Alabaster Coffee Roasters.

The food was excellent and thanks to Mood & Raven, Herdic House, Chef Hosch & Ann Catering, Erb's Catering, Tony's Deli, Santino's, Wegmans and Weis markets for providing tasty treats. We must also thank the many Board members and friends of the Taber Museum who provided, chips, sandwiches, cookies, brownies, pretzels, soda, water, nuts and much more for the evening.

The raffle prizes were again wonderful. Our anonymous craftsman produced 10 hand made pails, which were raffled off with liquid and solid treats. Thanks to all who put together the prizes, and to those who entered the raffle.

Of course, Dewey Oakes is to be thanked for producing tickets, signs and advertising for the event. It would be much more difficult without his volunteer efforts and expertise.

Every year the Bottles & Brews event gets bigger and better. Look for Bottles & Brews VI in August 2018!
