CasinoEvil 2016 The ghost of Prince Farrington may have been lurking behind the bar at Farrington Place on Saturday, April 30, 2016. CasinoEvil celebrated the Roaring Twenties with a night of food, liquid spirits and games of chance, all as a fundraiser to benefit the Lycoming County Historical Society and Preservation Williamsport.

The well attended event brought out the best in 1920's attire: Sleeveless and shapeless dresses, slip gowns accented with beading, sequins and fringe. Feathers, diamond tiaras, headbands, silk shawls, long pearl necklaces, and gold arm bangles were all on display on the women. The men wore dinner jackets, striped suits, flashy neckties and homburg hats. In all, a rather flashy crowd.

The gamers seemed to be doing quite well, if the number and loudness of the shrieks of delight from those at the tables, was any indication. The winners then cashed out, got tickets and bid for prizes, after the games ended. A number of prize baskets filled with gift certificates, liquid refreshment, vintage coins and bills, coffee and nuts, sporting equipment, a framed CasinoEvil poster, limited edition plates depicting the Russell Inn, and many more prizes were donated to go to the successful bidder.

The attendees treated themselves to an open bar with liquor, beer and wine, as well as popcorn, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts.

Preservation Williamsport and the Lycoming County Historical Society thank the attendees for supporting this fund raising event. Also, we are grateful to our many sponsors, including Penn Square Apartments; Eiderson Dean; Elion, Wayne & Carlucci Law Offices; Woodlands Bank; Mirabito Properties, Inc.; Bill Brown; Beiters; Bill Hoffman; Kay Ertel; Midstate Beverage; Jersey Shore State Bank; Chuck and Karla Anderson; Citizens & Northern Bank and Ecker Family Dental.
