Bottles & Brews IVIt took so long to arrive. And then it was gone so quickly. But oh boy did we have fun at the Bottles & Brews IV fundraiser on August 12!

Tickets sold totaled 337, yet the well organized event operated smoothly with no lines at the tasting booths. Guests had the opportunity to taste a great variety of beers offered by 13 breweries or brewpubs and from the home brewers guild. Brewers took the opportunity to bring out their new Fall offerings, which were unusual and tasty.

We thank our participating brewers: Samuel Adams Brewing, Straub Brewery, Founders Brewing Company, Sly Fox Brewing, Old Forge Brewing, Abby Wright Brewing Company, Penn Brewing, Yuengling Brewery, Billtown Brewers Guild, Reipstine's Pub, Neshaminy Creek Brewery and Bullfrog Brewery.

One of the tasting highlights was the Brewers Guild "Thomas T" IPA that was brewed on the grounds of the Taber Museum. Tasters commented that it was quite hoppy and good.

As in previous years, The Moon and Raven and the Herdic House restaurants offered tasty, home-made food to the hungry guests. Chili and focaccia bread were quite good. Other food from chicken bites to home-made cookies and pastries were gobbled up through the evening. Some of the guests seemed to be more interested in the good food than the beer tasting.

The art gallery was well served by the fine wines and spirits offered by our Wineries The Fife and Drum Winery, ECM Cellars and Mountain Top Distillery.

At the conclusion of the event, a number of our guests walked away with hand crafted buckets filled with beer and spirits. The buckets are custom made by an anonymous donor, and the Taber is grateful for his generous donation to the Museum.

Many volunteers and sponsors, and our guests, collaborated to ensure a very successful event. Thanks to all. See you next year for Bottles & Brews V.
