The Taber Museum hosted local author Tom Rich on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Rich spoke about his book, Railroads and Railroaders: East and West, The History of Lines That Operated in Central Pennsylvania, to a crowd of interested train enthusiasts. The program was sponsored by Van Campen Motors.
Tom Rich is a Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at Bucknell University. The book is the first of 3 volumes to be published by the Union County Historical Society on railroads in Central PA,, focusing on the main railroad lines that ran east and west from Montandon to Tyrone, PA, along with the logging railroads, and narrow gauge lines from Winfield to New Berlin and White Deer to Loganton, PA.
