We are off to a good start with our first Coffee Hour of the year, held on March 10.

P. J. Piccirillo

P. J. Piccirillo’s book, The Indigo Scarf , was the topic of discussion. It involves two escaped slaves in the earliest years of the 19th century. Their escape, survival on the ‘frontier’, marriage and children, and subsequent success in the establishment of a grist mill are outlined, with a backdrop of Williamsport and Lycoming County providing the setting.

The book sells for $19.95. There were thirty-eight people in the audience and many were intrigued enough to purchase the book in our Museum Store after P.J.’s talk. We do have P. J.’s other books Nunc Stans ($16.95) and Heartwood ($19.95). Membership discounts apply.
