The Taber Museum hosted a Society Program on Sunday, September 19, 2021 featuring John Hunsinger on the topic: "The Town Band: Repasz: Sousa." He shared obscure local history on the subject. Musical selections punctuated the lecture, with guest soloist Lucy Henry performing Sousa composition. All the 45 attendees sang along with the Repasz Band March.
John L. Hunsinger is a retired educator and bandsman who has researched and lectured on local musical history. He is responsible for the installation of the permanent exhibit, "Lycoming County's Musical Heritage: The Brass Band Era". He is also the author of a biography of John Hazel, Williamsport's "Wizard Cornetist". He is a life member of the Historical Society and an active member of the Committee which oversees the maintenance of the Larue Shempp Model Train Collection.
Lucy Henry is a retired music educator, spending most of her thirty-one year career as a music teacher and choir director for the Williamsport Area School District. She is a multi-talented musician often remembered for her dulcimer, recorder and, flute music, as well as being an accomplished actress.
