Human Form & Beyond was the title of the 2016 exhibition from the talented students of the Dr. June E. Baskin Visual Arts Fund 2016 Art Camp. The exhibition was displayed in September.
Representing students from middle and high schools throughout Lycoming County, the students studied the human form through the study of the human skeleton and musculature as well as creating fanciful costumes and three dimensional figures with sequins, feathers, rope, playing cards, and such.
The Dr. June E. Baskin Visual Arts Fund Project committee plans an annual summer camp to benefit students throughout Lycoming County. This was the eleventh year.
The 2016 art camp provided each student with materials for working with a variety of drawing and sculpture materials. Activities during the June 20-24 camp included quality instruction from talented local artists in both traditional and non-traditional drawing and sculpture.
Students contributed to the collaborative framed collection of Figure & Beyond repousse’ eyes to be presented to the Sight Services of NorthEast Pennsylvania. Each student selected the pieces to be exhibited.
