Williamsport: Author Chris Yohn will lecture at the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2pm. The subject of his lecture will be his recently-published book, Liberty’s Land: A true-life novel of the American Revolution where rugged frontier Pennsylvanians rose to shape a nation’s destiny. Yohn’s lecture is part of the America250 celebration at the Taber Museum. The Lecture Series is supported with grant monies from the Lycoming County Visitors’ Bureau Travel and Tourism Grant and the Catherine Burns Insurance Services of Muncy. The meeting will be held in the Community Room and the presentation is free and open to the public.
Centered around the ‘faces and places of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River’, the author writes “Liberty’s Land is a true story. The characters are real people. Extensively researched across many diverse sources, the story was teased back to life from an extremely fragmented historical record. In rare places where the record conflicts or breaks down entirely, I reasoned through the most logical scenario rather than omit a pivotal event…” His book is available in the Museum Store at a cost of $16.00 plus Pennsylvania tax. Museum members receive a 10% discount.
For further information please call 570.326.3326. The museum is located at 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport. Parking is available to the rear of the building, the parking lot at Trinity Episcopal or on the street.
