Punched Paper Embroidery

Williamsport- The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society is hosting a punched paper embroidery sampler workshop with local fibers artist Jackie Thomas on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 2 until 4pm. A donation of$5. for materials is suggested, but also allows access to the summer exhibit, Make Much of Precious Time While in Your Power, a display of seventy-nine European and American needlework samplers.

While instructing this summer at the Dr. June Baskin Art Camp, Jackie was inspired to share this workshop after viewing the exhibit, in particular an example of punched paper embroidery that records a Family Registry for the Pease-Randall Family from Hancock County, Maine, c. 1878-1887. All materials will be provided. Participants will make a punched paper running embroidery stitch sampler card. Pre-registration is required in order that we have sufficient materials on hand. Participants should register no later than noon on Friday, August 2.
