"-only God can make a tree" is the first in a series of books that feature a select collection of Peter Grimord's pen and ink drawings of naturalist subjects accompanied with words of famous poets, writers, naturalists, and statesmen who have shared their thought and feelings on the subject of trees and nature. The style and technique used by the artist, called stippling or sometimes pointillism, is slow and tedious and rarely practiced to the extent shown in these pages. Future volumes will include subjects beyond trees, such as insects, mammals, birds, and the world of flora and decay that cover the forest floor.
