EagleWilliamsport- Interested people are invited to learn the heritage technique of applique by starting an EAGLE block designed by Ricki Moler. She will be teaching this at the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11:00am until 3:30pm. Cost is $50. and the class is limited to twenty people.

Guests are encouraged to bring basic tools and supplies for hand sewing and a background square to finish a 12+ inch (do not cut your background until it is discussed in class) square, small pieces and scraps for the eagle design; ribbon above the eagle, beak, head, two fabrics in the shield, two fabrics for eagle wings and tail, embroidery floss and tools (embroidery is optional). A task light is also strongly suggested and a bright book light could be helpful too. A number of quilts from the permanent collection of the Taber Museum will be available for examination. Guests will learn how applique evolved and will learn to make stitches that are ‘darn near invisible’. Guests are welcome to bring drink and snacks.
