West Branch SchoolWilliamsport- The Thomas T. Taber Museum announces the opening of an exhibit celebrating the legacy of the West Branch School, which flourished from 1971 until its closure in 2022. The exhibit will open on Tuesday, April 2 and continue through Sunday, May 5.

The exhibit will include student-produced banners, photographs and photograph albums, tee shirts, plaques, DVDs, broadsides (posters), yearbooks, and costumes from several of the student theatrical productions. The archival materials of the school are now permanently housed at the Taber Museum. Exhibit hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9:30am until 4:00pm and Saturday, 11:00am until 4:00pm. An admission is charged.

A reception to view the exhibit will be held on Friday, May 3, from 6-8pm. For that reception, alumni, former teachers, and parents of alumni are especially encouraged to attend. No admission will be charged on the night of the reception. Light refreshments will be served. An R.S.V.P. to 570.326.3326 would be helpful.

Organized in 1971, the school was founded by a group of parents concerned about their children’s education. The school mission envisioned a “developmental, functional child-centered educational program”. The school now boasts graduates in all corners of the globe who have made their impact felt on the cultural and professional fabric of the world.
