star quiltWilliamsport- The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of their holiday exhibit, ‘Stars’, on Friday, December 1.

The exhibit will feature decorative arts which display a star motif. A number of quilts drawn from the permanent collection of the Museum will be featured, as well as loan items from the local community. The holiday exhibit will continue through Saturday, January 20, 2024. Except for special occasions, the Museum is now closed on Sundays until May 2024.

And as a special addendum focusing on the Star theme… a special showing of clips from the documentary Follow the North Star to Freedom, retelling the story of the efforts to assist slaves on the road to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Created by filmmaker Karen Frock, the clips will be shown during the early days of 2024. The Historical Society actively participated in supplying artifacts and information in the production of this film.
