Position Available: Volunteer Educator for Children’s Programming

This is an available position at the Lycoming County Historical Society. It is an unpaid volunteer position.


  • To develop a number of activities suitable for children and families which reveal to the participants an aspect of history, but could be accomplished through literature, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, nature & science, etc…
  • Solicit ideas for fresh programming from children, parents, educators, and the community at large
  • Serve as a liaison between LCHS and school districts in modifying our tours to enhance the curriculum of the school districts

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience with children, aged six through teen years
  • Creative Mind
  • Flexibility of Schedule, including some weekend activities


  • Staying within a modest budget
  • Clears activities with the Executive Director/Education Committee
  • Must submit to a background check/clearance to work with children
