by Linda Campbell The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society is inviting members of the community to a number of special events during the month of December.

On Saturday, December 8, from 11am until 4pm and Sunday, December 9, 1pm-4pm, the museum will be open as a holiday ‘gift shop’. Featured will be Christmas ornaments produced by some of the area’s most talented artists. And the ornaments will be for sale! Glass snowmen, pinecones, stained glass, Pysanky eggs, pine needles, sleds, and Santa Clauses will be offered to you as a Christmas treat.

The featured artist Jackie Thomas will be offering intricately-woven loblolly (“Jack”) pine needle medallions. Her ornaments will be a limited edition ornament found only at the Taber. Other artists highlighted will be Deb Parsons, Sally Cohick, Nadine Sapiente, Mike Swanger, Tammy Daneker, Catheal Weiser, Mickey Mapstone, James Meckley, and Linda Campbell. Also on sale will be a number of framed prints which feature the artwork of Tasha Tudor and Jessie Willcox Smith and a number of examples of scherenschnitte (that is a fancy name for paper-cutting!). These lovely pieces would enhance any indoor setting and be great as stocking stuffers! Light refreshments will be available..

Visitors to the Museum will have the opportunity to view the Museum’s holiday exhibit, titled Skates, Sleds, Sleighs, and Stockings: The Taber Holiday Exhibit
