Taber Coffee Hour to feature lecture on harvesting edible herbs

The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society has announced the topic of its October 10th Coffee Hour. Julianna Csoka-Cooper will be presenting ‘Harvesting Edible Herbs’. The talk will be held on Thursday, October 10, at 10am in the Community Room of the Taber Museum. The talk is free and open to the public.

Edible Herbs

Julianna is well-known for her gardening skills. She has lectured widely, presented classes on many forms of plant materials, and has appeared in regular segments on Channel 8. She is a Master Gardener and is a long-standing member of the Lewisburg Garden Club. In addition, her own inspirational and beautifully-landscaped grounds have appeared on many of the local house and garden tours.

The lecture is part of a series of lectures held throughout 2013 focusing on eating and drinking. Future activities will include a chocolate truffle tasting on Sunday, October 20, led by Bernie & Bonnie Katz of the downtown Williamsport business Le Chocolat. This lecture, free and open to the public (advance registration is requested for the truffle tasting) will also be held in the Community Room of the Taber. The lecture series combines the LCHS Coffee Hours (second Thursday of March-June, Sept.-Dec.) at 10am and its Society Programs (third Sunday of May-October) at 2pm. The lecture series is supported in part by a generous grant from the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts, Inc.

The museum is located at 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport. Ample parking may be found to the rear of the building and on the street. For further information regarding the programming at the Taber Museum, please call at 570.326.3326 or visit the website at
